The 34th FAB CE CEO Committee Meeting was held in Vienna on October 15th with a special presentation by Iacopo Prissinotti, Director Network Management, Eurocontrol.

Valerie Hackl will be taking over as chairperson of the FABCE CEO Committe as of July 1.

FAB CE has established a Task Force to study further areas of regional cooperation with the aim of establishing an airspace design optimized for all airspace users. 

European Commission RP3 targets, controller fatigue management and potential consolidation of services as part of the recent Airspace Architecture Study (AAS) were three of the main topics discussed by participants at the FAB CE social dialogue forum in Prague on May 9.

The FAB CE CEO Committee (CEOC) meeting in Madrid in March 2019 agreed a number of important airspace design improvement studies and related technical programmes to ensure airspace users can further optimise their trajectories through FAB CE airspace over the coming years.

Small air navigation service providers (ANSPs) can raise performance by merging airspace, however there is a turning point where decreasing returns of scale appear, according to an analysis of functional airspace bloc (FAB) performance by university academics in Spain and Germany.
