FAB CE partner air navigation service provider (ANSP) representatives will be attending the 2021 World ATM Congress, taking place on 26-28 October in the IFEMA Feria de Madrid, Spain.
In September 2021 FAB CE representatives met with the Eurocontrol Network Manager to finalize the plan for further implementation of free route airspace (FRA) in the FAB CE area.
FAB CE States are reporting faster-than-forecast airline traffic recovery levels but the recovery is characterised by two very different trends.
The September 2021 inter-FAB “Climate change and the role of air traffic control” research workshop (https://www.fabec.eu/topics/climate-change), hosted by Vilnius Technical University in Lithuania, brought together air traffic management (ATM) experts and policy leaders from throughout Europe and featured a presentation by FAB CE partner HungaroControl.
The FAB CE CEO Committee, in its 10 June 2021 meeting, has approved the report and recommendations of the technical services agreement (TSA) and service level agreement (SLA) working group, set up to develop template agreements for sharing air traffic management (ATM) and communications, navigation and surveillance (CNS) infrastructure data between FAB CE air navigation surveillance providers (ANSPs), a critical step in implementing cross-border digitalisation technology programmes.
For FAB CE’s Airspace Task Force - a working group of all FAB CE air navigation service providers (ANSPs), Network Manager and representatives of ANSPs adjacent to the FAB CE region - the last few months have been a busy period following the January 2021 meeting which agreed further expansion of free route airspace (FRA) procedures across the important central/south-east European region and re-sectorising of several cross-border airspace areas between individual States (https://www.fab-ce.eu/news-media/news/254-fab-ce-ansps-work-to-expand-cross-border-free-route-airspace).
