World ATM Congress 2022: FAB CE exhibiting, speaking and award finalist

FAB CE will have a major presence at this year’s World ATM Congress in Madrid, taking place between 21 and 23 June.

FAB CE representatives will be available to meet exhibition visitors on the stands of alliance members HungaroControl and ANS CR.  During the InterFab panels on June 21 and 22, held at the FABEC OPS Theatre, FAB CE experts will be giving their views on, and sharing operational experiences of, some current critical ATM challenges. These include: Commitment to the environment in critical times – which will discuss the role of ATM in reducing aviation related greenhouse gas emissions - Rising complexity in European airspace, a discussion on the impact of rapid changes in airspace demand on the provision of safe and reliable services and Complexity demands aligned objectives, where the panel will provide analyses how various external factors influence airspace performance and day-to-day operations.

Finally, FAB CE air navigation service providers (ANSPs) have been named as finalists for two sets of ATM performance awards.

In the ATM/UTM Awards (, FAB CE is a finalist in the ATM Innovation Award category for its Communications, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) Infrastructure Planning Project. FABCE ANSP AustroControl’s Enhanced Surveillance Tower Control programme has also been nominated as a finalist for the same award.

Among the ATCA/CANSO Maverick Awards (, HungaroControl is a finalist in the Resilience Award category, for quickly adapting during the COVID-19 crisis. By using digital remote technologies, HungaroControl maintained a normal service level during the pandemic, while separating ATCO staff safely and efficiently. Austro Control and Croatia Control are finalists with the COOPANS Alliance for the Collaboration Award category. The COOPANS Alliance has brought the development of innovative ATM features to a new level thanks to a cutting-edge cloud-based innovation ATM platform called SkyLab.
