The 55th meeting of the FAB CE CEO Committee took place in Vienna on October 15 under the chairpersonship of CEO Committee Chair Elisabeth Landrichter. The meeting focused on key strategic priorities that will shape the future development of FAB CE and reinforce cooperation among its member Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs).
Clear Strategic Priorities for the Future
FAB CE is currently focused on three main objectives:
- Strengthening cooperation through joint projects that deliver tangible benefits to participating ANSPs
- Ensuring the safe and resilient modernisation of Air Traffic Management (ATM) and Communication, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) systems
- Further enhancing performance, efficiency and service quality through close operational cooperation
These priorities were formally endorsed by the CEOs during the meeting, reaffirming the commitment of all seven FAB CE ANSPs to a shared strategic direction.
FAB CE Driving Technical Harmonisation
Technical harmonisation remains one of the core strengths of FAB CE. During the meeting, participants discussed the future development of CNS infrastructure and several important initiatives, including:
- FAB CE contributions to the evolution of the European Minimum Operational Network (MON) towards a Resilient Operational Network (RON)
- A new FAB CE project focused on GNSS monitoring in lower airspace
- Further enhancements to the FAB CE Operations and Environmental Dashboards
These initiatives support greater resilience, interoperability and operational efficiency across the FAB CE region.
Innovation Through Cross-Border Collaboration
The value of FAB CE cooperation was recently demonstrated through the FAB CE drone live demonstration in Rijeka, focusing on dynamic airspace configuration. The project showcased how new technologies, innovative operational procedures and cross-border cooperation can be successfully integrated in a real-world environment. The demonstration highlighted the potential of collaborative approaches to support the safe integration of drones into the European aviation system and marked an important step towards future airspace modernisation.
Delivering Value Through Partnership
The latest CEO Committee meeting once again underlined the importance of FAB CE as a platform for cooperation, innovation and shared progress. By enabling joint projects, fostering technical harmonisation and supporting practical operational solutions, FAB CE continues to create tangible benefits for all participating ANSPs while contributing to the modernisation of the European air traffic management network.
