In January 2025, FAB CE representatives travelled to Reykjavik to meet with the Borealis Alliance.
During the meeting, FAB CE had the opportunity to learn more about the projects the Borealis Alliance is focusing on and share some of the programs they are currently working on. The agenda included presentations on strategies, completed Free Route cross-border projects, future strategic projects, airspace task force deployment activities, performance group projects and an OPS dashboard presentation. This visit marks a significant step in inter-alliance cooperation, with both parties discussing next steps and future collaboration opportunities.
The Borealis Alliance is composed of nine ANSPs: Fintraffic, Avinor, EANS, Isavia ANS, LGS, NATS, Naviair, and Oro Navigacija. Their primary goal is to facilitate cooperation among the members for the benefit of customers, based on commercially recognized business partnering principles. This collaboration aims to enhance the operational and financial performance of members' ATS and achieve SES and ICAO performance targets.
The trip was a great opportunity to learn more about the Borealis Alliance and share information across both alliances that will hopefully spark some new ideas for future strategic activities and cooperation.
