April and May was a busy month for the transition of leadership within our FAB with three ANSPs announcing changes in their executive teams. 

Slovenia Control 

On 2 April 2024, the Supervisory Board of Slovenian Air Navigation Services, Limited (Slovenia Control, Ltd.) appointed Mr Srečko Janša as the new Chief Executive Officer of Slovenia Control, Ltd., with a term of office beginning on 5 April 2024.

Mr Srečko Janša has more than 35 years of experience in the field of civil aviation.  He actively contributed to the establishment of Slovenia Control, Ltd., of which he was CEO from its foundation in 2004 until 2008. He played a significant role in the establishment of the Civil Aviation Agency of the Republic of Slovenia, where he also served as Acting Director for a short period of time. Prior to assuming the position of CEO of Slovenia Control, Ltd., he held the post of Director General of the Directorate of Aviation and Maritime Transport at the Ministry of Infrastructure of the Republic of Slovenia.

Austro Control

Austro Control will go into the future with a new management team. From May 1, Elisabeth Landrichter and Philipp Piber will be heading the Austrian air navigation service provider and aviation authority. 

Aviation is facing major challenges – climate action, rising air traffic figures and technological change are the top priorities. Together with all employees, the new management team will tackle these challenges and prepare the company for the future.

With a highly qualified staff and a comprehensive range of services, from air traffic control, engineering services and meteorology to an internationally renowned aviation authority and drones, Austro Control ensures the safe handling of air traffic in Austria.

Elisabeth Landrichter, previously Deputy Head of the Transport Section and Head of the Directorate Aviation in the Ministry of Climate Action, will form the new management team of Austro Control together with Philipp Piber. She was appointed by Minister for Climate Action Leonore Gewessler for a period of five years. Elisabeth Landrichter has been intensively involved with aviation in various functions at the ministry since 2013 and has represented Austria at the Director General level in all relevant European and international aviation committees. Previously she worked for Vienna Airport and on the management board of the City Airport Train (CAT) among others.

Philipp Piber has been Managing Director at Austro Control since the beginning of 2022 and is responsible for Air Navigation Services. Over the past two years, the company has managed to achieve a consistently high performance compared internationally despite a significant increase in traffic figures and to establish Austro Control as one of the most punctual air navigation service providers in Europe. Prior to his time as managing director for many years he served as Head of the Aviation Authority at Austro Control.

LPS SR

Also in April, Mr. Miroslav Boháč was appointed the new CEO of LPS SR š. p. by the Minister of Transport of the Slovak Republic.
