FAB CE technical experts have successfully concluded an important common procurement programme, harmonising equipment procurement measures and reducing costs for all involved.

Project 17 X-Bone HW Procurement was started in 2015, to upgrade the X-bone routers among FAB CE air navigation service providers and to accomplish the first FAB CE common procurement programme, laying down procedural foundations for the further common procurement activities.

P17 experts developed a hardware upgrade transition plan and ANSPs migrated to the new HW platform according to the plan. Transition to the new X-bone platform was completed on 10 April 2018.

According to the final project report:

“The tender for procurement of X-Bone routers was completed by FAB CE Ltd (FCE) on July 2017 by the succseesful delivery of specified devices to ANSPs. The winning bidder was selected and the first FAB CE common procurement resulted in a favourable price compared to individual procurements….Project 17 fulfilled all its obligations. Though delayed due to late tender, it reached both its goals and proved profitability of mutual cooperation in the smart procurement.”
