FAB CE’s pioneering work to deliver functional airspace block ATM performance improvements was on full display at this year’s World ATM Congress in Madrid, which took place between 6 and 8 March.
FAB CE’s common equipment procurement programme was a short-listed finalist in the Jane’s ATC Awards competition, where it featured in the Service Provision section for contributions to safe and efficient airspace.
Along with a short film to highlight the progress being made in areas such as cross-border free route airspace procedures and joint procurement, FAB CE communications experts were on hand to speak with stakeholders, customers and other interested visitors on the wide range of work programmes under way by FAB CE airspace alliance partners.
A dedicated FAB CE stand presence courtesy of ANS CR – Air Navigation Services of the Czech Republic – along with a re-launched website and corporate re-branding, meant FAB CE was able to speak with colleagues and customers in a more focused and effective way than ever before. FAB CE speakers contributed to a wide number of seminars and discussions, including topics such as volatility in ATM, the South East Common Sky Initiative Free Route Airspace (SECSI FRA) programme and common procurement.
“It is particularly important at the moment to ensure that the work we are doing to improve all levels of ATM performance is understood and acknowledged by regulators and our aircraft operator customers,” said Matej Eljon, FAB CE Programme Manager and Director of FAB CE Aviation Services. “The World ATM Congress gives us a unique opportunity to do just that and judging by the amount of visitors to the stand and the conversations we were able to have with our target audience the event was a major success for us all.”
